Black Voters Matter Fund et al. v. Raffensperger
The ACLU of Georgia filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Black Voters Matter challenging the constitutionality of requiring voters to buy postage stamps when submitting mail-in absentee ballots and mailing in absentee ballot applications. This is tantamount to a poll tax.
Wright v Sumter County Board of Elections and Registration
The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the District Court’s order that the Sumter County Board of Elections and Registration adopt court-drawn maps for county school board elections, in compliance with the Voting Rights Act. In addition, the court required the county to move its school board elections from May back to November to ensure increased voter participation, including from the Black community.

Letter to Chatham County Sheriff Chatham County Sheriff to Rescind Policy Banning Books, Publications in the Jail
The ACLU of Georgia sent a letter of intent to sue to Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp and the Chatham County Board of Registrars because of letters the board sent to Thunderbolt resident Jennifer Hill and more than 300 other voters threatening to remove them from the voter rolls.
