Pete Combs Discusses Maria Palacios

Maria Palacios has lived in Gainesville, Georgia, since 2009 and became a US citizen last year. [She] wants to represent her community in the state legislature. But Georgia has a unique clause in its constitution that says Palacios has to be a citizen of the state… not merely a resident… for two years before she can run. And in a blustery… five-minute hearing on the matter… Fulton County Superior Court Judge Craig Schwall agreed. If Palacios wants to serve in the state house… it seems… she’ll have to wait.
