Poll Closures/Moves/ReOpenings
Andrea Young, ACLU of Georgia executive director, congratulates Randolph County citizens on the critical victory to keep open their voting precincts. She thanked the ACLU of Georgia supporters who made their voices heard, who came out and supported the community to stop this anti-voter move.
In the packed meeting on August 24, 2018, the citizens of Randolph County watched as the board of elections members unanimously voted down the proposal to close seven of county’s nine precincts.

ACLU of Georgia staff attorney Aklima Khondoker (middle) and community engagement manager Stephanie Ali (second to left) successfully worked with Valdosta State University faculty and students to reopen the campus precinct.
