ATLANTA – Below is a statement from Sean J. Young, Legal Director for the ACLU of Georgia, regarding HB 848, the voting machine legislation currently before the House Governmental Affairs Special Subcommittee on Voting Technology this afternoon.  

“The ACLU of Georgia is asking for three things,” stated Sean J. Young, Legal Director of the ACLU of Georgia,”First, voter-verified accuracy. Second, absolute uniformity in the machines that all 159 counties are using in all their precincts. Lastly, paper receipts that specifically identify the candidates the voters selected.”
