ATLANTA - "We urge the U.S. Senate to pass the For the People Act — HR1. When passed, this bill will ban various provisions of Georgia’s anti-voter law (SB202) from going into effect for the 2022 elections, including the ID requirements on mail-in absentee ballots, the shortened time frame to return an absentee ballot, the disenfranchisement of certain out of precinct votes, and the shortening of the runoff early voting period,” said Andrea Young, executive director of the ACLU of Georgia.
