ATLANTA - ACLU of Georgia submitted an open records request to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office asking for all communications between David Bores and the Barrow County Sheriff's office as well as all training materials and documents related to the so-called "training" titled "Islam in America" scheduled for Thursday, March 8, 2018.
"The public has a right to know how their taxpayer dollars are being wasted on a dangerous training course that peddles un-American values," stated Sean J. Young, Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia.
At a press conference held at noon today the ACLU of Georgia joined Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Georgia, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Project South, and Jewish Voice for Peace to express its deep concern about an inflammatory, hateful, and potentially unconstitutional "training course."
