We and our legal partners filed an amicus brief in a lawsuit challenging two new rules passed by the Georgia State Elections Board.
The ACLU of Georgia and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) Georgia State Office have teamed up on “I Got 5 on It,” a get-out-the-vote campaign.
We are disturbed that the Board has made this unnecessary rule change that further burdens elections officials. We urge Georgia voters to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
We are pleased that Georgia’s students, again, have rightful access to the AP African American Studies course that has been offered in the state for the last four years.
The rule has created the opportunity for county board members to either delay or fail to certify based solely on speculation, rumor, or their own political preferences.
Despite what appears to be a reversal of an earlier statement, AP African American Studies will not be offered in Georgia's public schools.
