WHAT
The American Civil Liberties Union will host a press conference to discuss the recent onslaught of proposed legislation in states across the country to suppress the right to vote. The presser will provide a broad overview of these hostile bills, steps to counter them, and also feature speakers on the ground in Georgia, Montana, and Delaware.

One of the most watched states is Georgia, where House Bill 531 attacks early voting, Election Day voting, and vote by mail — every single way that Georgians vote.

In Montana, there is an effort this year to eliminate same-day Election Day registration and a bill that would make it harder for Indigenous People living on rural reservations to vote.

The call will also discuss efforts in Delaware to make no-excuse absentee voting permanent in the state.
