Dorrie Toney, the ACLU of Georgia’s communications director, is passionate about connecting people with the information they need to navigate and improve their lives. After many years as a news journalist, she attended seminary at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology where she earned a Master of Divinity degree. With a renewed interest in advocacy, she turned to nonprofit work, serving first as director of communications at the American Academy of Religion before joining the ACLU. Dorrie lives in Atlanta and enjoys birding, bird photography, and exploring the enneagram.
