The ACLU of Georgia opposes Senate Bill 63 because it will impact the most vulnerable communities in the state — poorer Georgians, Black people and other people of color who do not always have money to post cash bail.
Our Deputy Director of Policy & Advocacy Fallon McClure, outlined why we oppose the bill in an article published on Newsone this weekend. The bill is scheduled for a vote in the Georgia House on Tuesday and if it passes, will be signed into law by the governor. You can read more about the bill here.
