Letters to Georgia Lawmakers: 'Do No Harm'

Georgians have had much to fret about during the 2025 state legislative session. Attacks on librarians and education, deliberate attempts to undo progress on diversity and equity, and extremist lawmakers placing corporate interests over those of consumers.

Concerned Georgians attended our Letter Writing Party on Monday, March 31 — one of a handful of events we’re hosting as the end of session nears. Alongside our partners, we offered a space for the community to pen messages to lawmakers on our high priority bills. Here’s a sampling of the roughly 60 letters that were hand-delivered to Georgia's senators and representatives this week.

Librarians face threats of criminal charges.

Students lost their right to an equitable education due to a statewide DEI ban. (Bill passed)

Georgians face increased discrimination due to a so-called religious liberty bill. (Bill passed)

Absentee voting in Georgia will be more difficult.

Georgians risk having their personal data shared and sold due to corporate favoritism.

Join our week of action events.

Expect to be called to action on the last day of the legislative session, as we band together to stop many bills aiming to diminish the rights of people in Georgia. Our week of events continues through Saturday. We think you should check out our block party on Friday and a mass mobilization this weekend. Learn more about it here.
